Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
I do! I am in network and accept only Optum, United Healthcare, and United Behavioral Health. I am also happy to provide a superbill if you would like to use your out-of-network benefits. Please contact your insurance provider to determine your out-of-network benefits for mental health services.
What are your fees and rates?
Individual session: $150 for 50 minute session
Couple’s sessions: $170 for 50 minutes OR $215 for 90 minutes
Can I use out-of-network benefits?
Absolutely! If you have a PPO insurance plan, you may be eligible to use out-of-network benefits.
How do I use my out-of-network benefits?
If you use your out-of-network benefits, you would be responsible to pay the full amount of a private pay session following each session. Every month I will provide you with a document called a Superbill showing proof of services. You will then submit that superbill to your insurance provider and you will receive reimbursement for the sessions. Usually, out-of-network benefits will cover a certain percentage of each session and that will be the amount you will get reimbursed. It is important to contact your insurance provider and inquire if they accept out-of-network providers, a superbill, and what percentage of the fee they are willing to reimburse.
What if I cant afford your fee?
If you are unable to pay my full private pay fee, I reserve a few sliding-scale spots in my schedule.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
I provide a free 15 minute phone consultation with potential clients in order to ensure we are a good fit for each other. In this consultation call, I will ask you a few questions to better understand why you are seeking therapy. I will also share some information about myself and my style and encourage you to ask me any questions. We will also discuss some basic information such as fee rates, availability, and insurance.
If we both feel like we are a good fit and you would like to move forward, I will then schedule our first session together. Before we meet, I will also send you all my intake documents through Simple Practice and discuss how we will virtually meet for our first session.
What is the first session like?
Getting to know you and your story is an important part of the therapeutic process. Therefore, in our first session together we will spend some time discussing some early experiences and any current situations impacting your life and wellbeing. We will also address any important of presenting concerns highlighted on any of the intake documents or questionnaires.
